She started her own business using a FUNDAP credit. She appreciates the support of the Foundation through different services, such as the advice she received about business issues, courses in the Technical Centre, free medical consultation services and, above all, the companionship and support she has received during the 5 years she has been part of the program.

VIRGINIA MAGDALENA, ENTREPRENEUR

WHO WE ARE

We are a FUNDAP program that was established in 1988 with the purpose of directing all resources, efforts, and actions to enhance the productive capacity of owners of micro and small businesses in the southwest of the country, through the provision of quality services in credit, training, and advice, as an alternative development for Guatemala, and with the aim of being a self-sustainable program that allows generating wealth for a better quality of life for the users of the microenterprise.

WHAT WE DO

Our purpose is to provide credit, training, and advice to owners of microenterprises, offering them an opportunity and an alternative for economic and personal growth. To meet diverse financing needs, working capital is provided through 4 lines of credit: Microenterprise, Infrastructure, Agricultural, and Community Banks. Through a team of committed collaborators, microentrepreneurs are supported with working capital. Respect for the beneficiary prevails, who is given a loan to contribute to the growth of the country, not seeking to meet a monetary goal, but one with a social impact.

HOW WE DO IT

Through a work methodology for each line of credit, the process of granting the loans is guided, amounts are defined, interest rate, periodicity of the payments, collection form, and the treatment of beneficiaries, who must receive cordiality from the Foundation, economic tools, and training topics to achieve personal and business development. Through training and advice, it fosters habits among its beneficiaries, including responsibility, punctuality, saving, and community organization.

The supported area has an extension of 29,989 Km2 (11,578 Square miles), which represent 27.53% of the national territory.
