WHO WE ARE

We are a FUNDAP program that was constituted in 1996, and provides training services and quality agricultural technical assistance, with agroecological and business approach, use of alternative technologies, promotion of agro-industry, and adaptation to climate change, aimed at communities, organizations and poor rural families, to improve their standard of living. We promote food security and sovereignty to increase the income of producers through agricultural production.

WHAT WE DO

We support beneficiary producers of the projects we execute with: productive technical assistance, diversification of agricultural production, demonstration plots, agricultural infrastructure (greenhouse production), business and productive training, agricultural social organization, agricultural technology transfer, use of alternative technologies, promotion of agribusiness with an agroecological business approach, and adaptation to climate change.

HOW WE DO IT

• Stimulating and favoring the social organization of agricultural producers as a means to achieve self-development.
• Improving the agricultural productive capacity to achieve food security and sovereignty of its beneficiaries.
• Achieving the diversification of production through innovation and technology transfer.
• Linking the production of the beneficiaries to the different markets.

The supported area has an extension of 26,093 Km2 (10,075 Square miles), which represent 23.96% of the national territory.

This program offers constant support to the beneficiaries of the agricultural program in their personal and technical growth, through activities such as: Agricultural and Business Diplomas, talks, demonstrations, educational tours, courses and workshops, seminars, meetings, and conferences, all with a focus on strengthening the leadership and personal development.

Productive and Business Technical Assistance

Productive and Business Technical Assistance
This initiative is focused on environmental sustainability and local resources. The beneficiaries receive support in: productive and business technical assistance, establishment of family gardens, diversification of agricultural production, management of family livestock farms, preparation of inputs for agroecological crop management, and assistance technique and training for livestock management.

Social Organization

Social Organization
This program provides training services and technical support for the restructuring of the social fabric. It does so through the constitution and legalization of community organizations that promote development actions, through activities with an agricultural or livestock production focus, in accordance with current legislation in Guatemala.

Market Linkage
The beneficiaries of the Agricultural program are supported with concrete actions that link them to and facilitate market access, through activities such as: fairs, exhibitions, business tours, establishment of local squares or markets, business roundtables, and new business contacts.

Transfer of Appropriate Technologies

Transfer of Appropriate Technologies
In an attempt to improve the work of the beneficiaries, this action provides advice and support in the adaptation of production processes and new production models such as: demonstration plots with an organic approach, vertical family gardens, hydroponics, table gardens, compost preparation, pesticides, nematicides, and natural insecticides.
