Instructors who support, educate, and transform lives
Every June 25, Guatemala celebrates Teacher’s Day, a date dedicated to recognizing the invaluable work of those who, with commitment and vocation, contribute to the education of new generations. Beyond transmitting knowledge, teachers inspire, guide, and open paths toward a better future.
In the Scholarships for Girls program this celebration takes on a special meaning, as our instructors carry out work that goes far beyond academic support. They are people who build bonds of trust with each scholarship recipient and her family, becoming a constant source of support throughout her educational process and personal development.
The goal of the project is to help improve the quality of life of girls through an academic approach, strengthening their opportunities to remain in school and achieve academic success.
To accomplish this, the work of the teachers is based on close and ongoing support, which includes:
- Personalized tutoring
- Monitoring visits to educational centers
- Constant communication with parents or guardians
One of the greatest achievements of our teachers’ work is the relationship of trust they build with families. This relationship encourages open communication, allowing the needs of each girl to be identified in a timely manner and the appropriate support to be provided.
When trust exists, families actively participate in the educational process, strengthening the shared commitment to provide better opportunities for their daughters.
A teachers’ work does not end when a meeting or follow-up visit is over. Their role involves walking alongside each scholarship recipient, celebrating her achievements, encouraging her during difficult moments, and constantly reminding her that education can transform her present and open new opportunities for her future. This close support strengthens self-esteem, encourages girls to stay in school, and promotes the integral development of each one of them.
None of this work would be possible without the trust and generosity of those who, through their donations, believe in our project. Each contribution received represents an opportunity for a girl to continue studying, strengthen her abilities, and build a better life project.
