My name is Gerber Hernández, and I am originally from Quetzaltenango. I currently work in the Human Talent Management Department, where I perform duties related to compensation, payroll administration, management of additional benefits, and supporting the Foundation’s collaborators.
Six years ago, I joined FUNDAP, motivated by the search for an opportunity that would allow me to develop professionally. From my first contact with the institution, I felt fully aligned with its approach and values, which confirmed for me that it was the right place to grow and contribute in a meaningful way.
One of the aspects I value most about the Foundation is the consistency between its mission, vision, and institutional objectives, which is reflected in a tangible way in the social impact it generates. FUNDAP is a special institution, because it concretely promotes the development and transformation that our country needs.
I consider myself enthusiastic, positive, and committed, with the conviction to take on every challenge as a learning opportunity. I try to convey this attitude to those around me, always maintaining a balance between my family and professional life, understanding that these values are also part of the service I provide from my role at the institution.
One of the most rewarding experiences has been being able to support, from my position, the colleagues who carry out fieldwork. It is deeply satisfying to know that my contribution adds to the impact they generate in the communities. I especially treasure the visits made to remote communities, where you can see firsthand the needs that FUNDAP’s teams are addressing. Being part of work that has a positive impact and transforms lives is the main goal of what we do.
Being part of the Foundation gives me a strong sense of belonging; I fully identify with the work being done, and I feel proud — especially because it is carried out with the vision and commitment of promoting the development of the most vulnerable people.
To new collaborators, I would like to share that you should not see your work as a routine, but as an opportunity to perform with enthusiasm and a sense of calling from day one. FUNDAP is a great school that contributes not only to professional growth but also to personal and human development. For me, it represents commitment and human dignity.
