Berta Rodríguez Zepeda is originally from La Blanca Ocós, San Marcos. She is 44 years old and has been part of the Foundation for 22 years, working as an instructor at a local CEDES center.
For Berta, the greatest motivation in being part of FUNDAP is the opportunity to share her knowledge with students—giving them tools to achieve their full personal development.
One of the most important impacts she sees in the community where she works is the creation of real development opportunities for students, with a special focus on women and youth, who are considered vulnerable groups. She shares that one of the most fulfilling experiences is being part of her students’ transformation: seeing them grow, become entrepreneurs, and thrive as individuals with enough determination to move forward and change their future.
One of Berta’s biggest dreams is to continue helping students strengthen their skills until they become fundamental pillars in both their families and their communities.
To someone who doesn’t know FUNDAP, Berta would say there’s always room to join the Foundation’s ideals, because “our only goal is the integral development of people.” At the heart of her work is a simple but powerful principle: serving others.
