DEISY SÁNCHEZ, FUNDAP Healthcare

Deisy Sánchez López is originally from Concepción Chiquirichapa, Quetzaltenango. She is 27 years old and has been part of the Foundation for 8 years, working as a Health Volunteer Facilitator.

What motivates Deisy most is that her work is deeply humanitarian. Every day, she has the chance to contribute to people’s development through education, training, and the sharing of knowledge with those who feel called to serve.

As Deisy explains, the true impact of FUNDAP’s work lies in the installed capacity left in communities. After completing their training, the individuals she supports can continue serving their communities in health-related matters. Without a doubt, this is one of the most meaningful experiences she mentions—watching each group of volunteers grow more sensitive and committed to helping those most in need.

What Deisy values most about working at FUNDAP is the opportunity to have a stable job with dignified, meaningful work.

She dreams of seeing more generations of Health Volunteers trained, so that primary healthcare access becomes a reality in every community.

To those unfamiliar with FUNDAP, Deisy would say that working at the Foundation is a great opportunity to carry out dignified and stable humanitarian work, where teamwork and solidarity are essential for everything to function well.
